Some mini beasts

 Been pootling around the house with the macro lens.

A Lacewing, a large black Aphid, a Zygiella x-notata and a Fruit Fly (Drosophila)

Garden Spider

 This huge female Araneus diadematus has set up her web on my potato plant. It would be rude of me not to get photos...

Some garden macros

 Dug out my macro lens and put on a homemade flash diffuser over the pop up flash. I need to work on it.

The last flower is from a potato plant in the garden!

Jumping Spider

 I so love these little guys 

Amaurobius on the Wall

 Spotted this chap on the wall and thought it was a young house spider. But on closer inspection I noticed the boxing gloves showing him to an adult male. And at the size he was it was clearly an Amaurobius.

Tiny spider on Aloe

A pale form of  Enoplognatha ovata (Candy-Stripe Spider), on one of my Aloes.

Canon IXUS

New spider for me

 Was having a little midnight garden safari the other night and I saw a small spider on the fence. I got an ok photo, then the following night I went out again and got a much better shot. The species is Neriene montana, a relatively large member of Linyphiidae (money spiders)

Night Worker

I spotted this web while out in the garden one night and I captured it with my IXUS in night mode.

Little Jumper

I spotted this tiny chap earlier, and after a first shot he turned around to look right at me!

A Spider's Skin

Testing out the new flash bracket, (a C bracket made by Boling that we found on Ebay for £13) I stumbled upon this old spider skin in the shed.
