A very early sunset

 While watching TV yesterday afternoon I noticed the sky seemed to turn pink and the walls of the living room took on a weird tinge. I had to go outside to have a look. The sky was turning from pink to orange, like a sunset, yet it wasn't even 3.30!

Autumn colours in the garden

 The birch in my garden putting on its Autumn clothes. 

Tiny fungi in the garden

 Spotted these strange little fungi growing on some old rope in the garden (its part of an old cat scratching post, put outside for the purpose of seeing what, if any, fungi I could get)

Rose hips, Rosebay Willowherb and Hawthorn berries. 

Clouds + Gulls

 Every evening the gulls fly over on their way to their roosting site, and I often go out to check out the sky for interesting clouds. On this evening I went outside with my phone and combined both!

A humongous fungus

 Spotted growing at the bottom of a Whitebeam tree, I thought it might be Chicken of the Woods, but I  discovered its actually called Meripilus giganteus.

Slugs in wet grass

 Rain brought em out!

Some mini beasts

 Been pootling around the house with the macro lens.

A Lacewing, a large black Aphid, a Zygiella x-notata and a Fruit Fly (Drosophila)

Plume Moth

 Spotted on the wall on the stairs. I've been informed its Amblyptilia acanthadactyla (Pterophoridae)

Garden Spider

 This huge female Araneus diadematus has set up her web on my potato plant. It would be rude of me not to get photos...

Some garden macros

 Dug out my macro lens and put on a homemade flash diffuser over the pop up flash. I need to work on it.

The last flower is from a potato plant in the garden!

Birds at Redcar

 Took a trip to Redcar with the family and got some bird shots.

Big Shroom

 Spotted during a visit to North Cemetery.

Its a type of Agaricus,same genus as Field Mushroom

Lichens on a bin

While waiting for a bus home I spotted a bin encrusted with lichens. I had to get a photo!

Sheltering Snails

 A couple of Cepea nemoralis sheltering under tree bark in the woods nearby. Taken with my phone.

Mirid Bug

 I thought this was a Shield Bug nymph at first but it turns out its a Mirid bug 

A tiny bit of moss

 While waiting for the bus home I spotted this tiny patch of moss on a wall.

Leafhopper

 Spotted on a buddleia leaf. He was hard to photograph! And I discovered they are related to Cicadas!

Hawthorn blossom

 From a walk the other day. It rained heavily later while I was still out!
